The Red Cross Blood Bank are in urgent need of O negative blood.
A recent survey published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics(1) found that every day the average Australian spends 48 minutes on personal hygiene and a little over two hours on housework and other household chores(2). Thats almost 20 hours every week on primping, preening, cleaning, washing, peeling and dusting!
The Australian Red Cross Blood Service suggests that reducing these routine activities by as little as five minutes per day would free up enough time to save lives.
There are around 100 collection sites across Australia, with more than 80 permanent Donor Centres in convenient city-centre locations and many mobile units which regularly visit more rural locations, making saving lives easier.
